With a visit to the Federal President and a boat trip on the Spree Queen Elizabeth II. (89) has officially begun its three-day state visit. In cloudy weather, the Queen met with her husband Prince Philip (94) on Wednesday morning in a Schloss Bellevue. After talking to the Queen, Prince Philip, Gauck and Schadt made on foot the way to the boat dock on the river Spree. In vessel “Ajax”, which is like the Queen born in 1926, went over the river – welcomed by many onlookers on the River Spree. Previously Gauck had accompanied no state guest in the boat on the Spree. Following German Chancellor Angela Merkel welcomed the British Queen to a Short visit to the Chancellery.
