Patrick Macnee, who in the cult series “The Avengers, Avengers” playing the male lead, has died at the age of 93 years.

Patrick Macnee is dead. The actor died on Thursday at his home in Rancho Mirage, California, as its official website reports. According to his son, he died in the presence of his family of natural causes. He was 93 years old

Macnee is primarily for his role in “The Avengers, Avengers” known that 161 episodes long ran in the 1960′s on TV known. On the side of Diana Rigg (76, “Game of Thrones”) also known as Emma Peel, he played the elegant secret agent John Steed. A native of London also played many other roles on television and in the theater.

Macnee had also fought for the Royal Navy during World War II. He was married three times. None of the three women is still alive. He is survived by his son Rupert, his daughter Kate and a grandson.
