The outgoing summer opera director Simone Young (54) is a new honorary member of the Hamburg State Opera.

The Australian conductor have done an excellent job in her ten-year tenure in Hamburg, explained culture senator Barbara Kisseler (independent) in the ceremony on Saturday night in the Hanseatic city. Honorary members of the State Opera, for example, opera star Placido Domingo, the artist Peter Ruzicka and singer Franz Grundheber. Youngs successor autumn is Kent Nagano (63).
