They have blown up houses, a former US President beaten and had contact with nasty aliens: “The Simpsons” raging for 25 years through the television. Initially dismissed as a children’s television, it is now one of the most successful TV formats in the world
1985:. Simpsons creator Matt Groening comes the idea for the animated series and he designs in 15 minutes “The Simpsons”. The characters he named after his own parents and sisters.
17th December 1989: The TV station Fox shines in the USA, the first half-hour episode of The Simpsons. Due to technical difficulties, the episode “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire” (original title: “Simpsons Roasting on to Open Fire”) is sent as the first episode, although it was originally intended as an eighth.
16th September 1990: The animated series won the first date of 31 Emmy Awards. Awarded the US television price is the episode “Life on the Fast Lane” (original title: “Life on the Fast Lane”) as the best cartoon shows under one hour.
13th September 1991: “The Simpsons” is running for the first time on German television, as evening series on ZDF.
20th January 1994: The animated series changes in the German TV at ProSieben, indented from 2000 onwards, the series of transmission place on the eve in prime time on.
15th December 2002 have traditionally hand-drawn series results now digital.
June 2001 A saying of Homer Simpson gets a place in the Oxford English Dictionary: The German translation comes after a failed action be very special “No,” he grumbles in the original “d’oh” – and make it so that in the dictionary.
July 2007: The yellow family celebrates with “The Simpsons – The Movie” movie premiere.
