Who hears the name and knows only one song from him, immediately has his raspy voice in the ear, to move his zerquältes face in my mind and the special way on stage verquer , Joe Cocker, this is not a song, it’s a scream. That he has mostly screamed cover versions of “With a Little Help From My Friends” to “Unchain My Heart”, does not matte r. He made the song his own, it was his. His appearance at the Woodstock Festival, now 35 years ago, made him legendary. His success made him trouble, drugs put to him, his tours in the seventies went beyond his powers.
