David Ryall is dead. The British actor died on December 25, a few days before his 80th birthday, his friend and colleague Mark Gatiss announced via Twitter and his daughter Charlie Ryall confirmed.
The great David Ryall left us on Christmas Day. A twinkling, brilliant, wonderful actor I was privileged to call a friend. RIP

Ryall was, inter alia, in Laurence Olivier’s Compagnie on stage and for the British original version of “House of Cards” in front of the television cameras. In the British cinema and on French television, he played Winston Churchill. In memory he will remain a German audience in his role of the magician Elphias Doge. In 2010 he played in the first part of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the friend of Dumbledore and escort the eponymous hero.
