After Sony hack: “The Interview” makes the Internet checkout – ORF.at

The controversial North Korea slapstick “The Interview” has recorded in the first days of its online publication more than 15 million dollars (about twelve million euros). The US media reported, citing official figures of the film studio Sony.

According to two million users watched the film between Wednesday and Saturday on online platforms like YouTube, Google Play or iTunes.

Sony had canceled after an online attack and terrorist threats initially scheduled for December 25 release date. After criticism of the decision, the film studio decided to expel the comedy online. In addition, 331 US theaters took the film into the program. There he played over the long weekend, according to “Hollywood Reporter” about 2.8 million dollars (about 2.3 million euros).
