Matthias Matschke determined in ZDF thriller “Helen Thorn” – THE WORLD

Matschke is already there. The one with the side parting. Sitting there in a suit and T-shirt in a famous café in Berlin-Mitte and looks off into space. He is one of the most talented comedians in Germany. Many know him from television, and theater-goers might have him ever in the Berlin Volksbühne, seen in nonsense comedy club or in the Burgtheater in Vienna. But in this cafe, you can talk with him for hours, without even one of the guests at the next table takes notice of him.

He is now there arrived where many can see him in the Second viz. Matthias Matschke plays since March a TV Commissioner. On Saturday evening he determined for the second time in prime time on the side of the well TAFFEN® as unconventional Helen Dorn (Anna Loos). Gregor Georgi means to be Commissioner. Another investigator, the alibis of Schedule F queries, you think. But then you see how much attention to detail, he has developed the figure of Section Hubers. A raised eyebrow or a deep breath, more feelings he does not allow it. Small cues only. You have to suffice to indicate how the man ticks behind the facade.

“Helen Thorn” is a challenge to the “crime scene”

This is no ordinary Commissioner Commissioner. But this crime series is not an ordinary crime series. “Helen Thorn” is a challenge to the “crime scene”, the flagship of the First. With the ZDF Director Matti Geschonneck entrusted. A master of Suspense , a multiple award-winning auteur, a student of human nature.

The Matschke had none on the screen, and the ZDF Geschonneck looked in helpless faces, as he said, of course, also need Anna Loos a male counterpart. He suggested the Matschke, or the no. On the Lerchenberg in Mainz today they are glad they have listened to his advice, because the first episode of “Helen Thorn”, aired in March, not only reached a record rate of eight million viewers. It was also just nominated for the German Television Prize. And that is largely the merit of Matthias Matschke.

With Loriot it started

A man, whose face has any ever seen anywhere, but at age 46 still has to put the question himself: “Matthias, who?” This Matschke is a godsend for the crime. Most already know the choice Berliner yes from the sitcom “Pastewka”. Since he plays Hagen, the surly brother of Bastian Pastewka. A man who as always looks a little as if you have just snapped him the last croissant in front of the nose.

Discovered has him Anke Engelke fourteen years ago , while shooting for the film comedy “LiebesLuder” by Detlev Buck. His voice gets an awesome tone when he speaks of it when he says of their versatility and the fact that they had both just “. A great actress and comedienne”

As a television nor bah was

The movie flopped, but asked him Engelke, if he did not like to join their new project. A sitcom for Sat.1, “Ladykracher”. His agent advised against it. “Television was still bah,” he says and grins. But Matschke had caught fire.

that he can weird that wants to have suspected the son of a Hessian religion teacher much earlier. He says, with Loriot everything started. “All the guys in my age, what kept to have, Dr. Klöööbner and Dr. Müller-Lüdenscheidt replayed.” One remembers. Two Men with side peaks and deadly serious faces, the naked again find themselves in the tub and fighting over a rubber ducky, always by you, of course

Family life remains taboo

Matthias Matschke looks like one of them, and you may say, without being offended. He says: “I’m also sad I am sometimes a very sad person..” Where does this sadness comes, he will not talk about it. His family must remain taboo. Matschke One should as a brooding people imagine.

“Ladykracher” So was his springboard. Since it things happen that do not happen normally men. Since you experienced it as Lover, which is dumped ice cold. Or as a bumbling husband and father who still abnickt the absurd educational methods of his better half. Or he is the head of department, who is shot and so filmreif falls off his chair as if he had done all his life otherwise. The man was a mistake of evolution. He has the famous sentence of Loriot, that comedy is inconceivable without serious because it happens to require a certain drop height.

found in the new ZDF detective series he suddenly in a roll again, that could have been him, the figure of fun, might not have expected. His Georgi is the nightmare of bureaucrats loyal to self-denial. And in this role, he has something unintentionally funny. Because in his heart that Georgi is a little boy remained. He barricaded himself behind statistics, to keep the horror of the crime of itself. And yet he does not succeed.

Matschkes career has just begun

You notice it because, as he caresses his wife (Bettina Lamprecht) lovingly over his head when he sits at home next to the daughters at the table and also ponders what would happen with the four year old daughter of the businessman Hans Thomsen (Herbert Knaup), who disappeared without a trace. The “taz” has written about him, the Georgian was so finely worked that they only look at him, “what rough carpentry are most of the characters in German thrillers”. Maybe now remembers the rest of the world, what a gifted actor Matschke.

Matti Geschonneck has already turned the sixth film with him. He discovered it in 2010 for his movie “Boxhagen place”. Soon you will see him as a shady witnesses in a film about the Nuremberg Trials.

A bit like Heinz Riihmann

Geschonneck says Matschke reminded him of Heinz Riihmann. “He has this apparent unobtrusiveness, which can change at any time in danger.”

It sounds as if the career of Matthias Matschke begun. His Allerweltsname, so it must not be an obstacle on the way to the red carpet. He himself has long since winking arranged it. He says: “I’ll just go on until one thinks at Matschke of glamor.”
