To make a good coffee is heavier than blow. This is Elizabeth, the main protagonist in Charlotte Roches novel adaptation “lap prayers”. “You did not all,” says her husband, but also: nothing new. New, however: sometimes a really good novel adaptation.

After the controversial “wetlands” is now also Charlotte Roche’s second novel to the big screen. “Summer fairy tale” director Sönke Wortmann brings “lap prayers” to the movies, the story of a neurotic and severely traumatized woman and her unusual marriage. Elizabeth (Lavinia Wilson) life is falling apart, as her siblings in a car accident on the way to her wedding killed.
