the drummer of the band Trio, Peter Behrens has died at the age of 68 years. He celebrated his greatest success with the play “Da, da, da”.
The drummer successful in the ’80s band Trio is dead. Peter Behrens died Wednesday at the age of 68 years in a hospital in Wilhelmshaven mutiplem organ failure. Ecki Schrader, who had recently made with Behrens Music, confirmed a report in the Image newspaper on the Facebook page of the musical duo. Also, publishers Oliver Schwarzkopf confirmed the death of the musician. Schwarzkopf laid Behrens’ autobiography entitled: “. The clown with the drum My years with Trio – but not only.”
With stoic countenance Behrens sat early eighties with the band Trio on drums. Trio counted with minimalist nonsense texts of the stars of the German New Wave. Their biggest hit, “Da da da” reached in 1982 to second place in the German Single Charts. An English version of the song was a success in the UK and Canada. After a break, the band was 1984 to earlier successes unable to repeat and dissolved in 1986.
A comeback attempt around 2000 around failed. Behrens tried after the separation of the band mid-eighties unsuccessful solo career. He was long regarded as a drug addict. Trio guitarist Gert Krawinkel died in 2014. The only remaining trio member, singer Stephan Remmler, adopted after 1986 solo albums and released successful singles, including No star in Athens.
Along with Ecki Schrader toured Behrens to last through clubs in northern Germany. The two musicians also played songs of the band Trio.
