Since its debut on 3 September 1999 Günther Jauch candidates have won loud RTL statistic total of 104 million euros (without the Celebrity Specials). Joy and pain are close together here. 13 times the million was earned (three times by celebrities for a good cause), 25 candidates on the other hand had to leave the hot seat with empty hands.
While in Germany for “Millionaire?” is no end in sight, the British original is now on hold. That was on September 4, the 1989 commercial broadcaster ITV1 on air and was set in February 2014 after Presenter Chris Tarrant had decided to phase. After RTL details the mission runs in 105 countries for over ten years and 150 times maximum profits were earned. However, these fall very different from.
Far from the riches
In Germany, the winning amount after the changeover to Euro was retained. Also in the US edition of the title is taken literally and winners go with a million dollar home. In some parts of the world the maximum win precipitates converted far lower. In the broadcast since 2008 show in Afghanistan, there is a maximum of one million Afghani to win. This just corresponds to around 12,700 euros. Of course, this sum into perspective, if the income levels are used. According to the World Bank, the average income in Afghanistan is about 680 dollars. The WWM maximum profit corresponds to about 21 annual income – which is as much as in Germany
Wide is less attractive to participate in Thailand.. The first prize of one million baht equivalent to just less than five years’ salary of an average earner. Still wall covered the prospects of Japan. Here you can win a maximum of ten million yen. These are just two annual salaries and the sum, which will be distributed in an average result in Germany. Perhaps this is the reason why in Japan so far, most winners were registered (under 40, half of them celebrities). In the broadcast since 2014 Version in Greece the maximum premium amounts to 100,000 euros, in Denmark there are a million Danish kroner, approximately 134,000 Euro to win.
The real “Slumdog Millionaire”
Incredible wealth meant the victory for the Indians, however Sushil Kumar. 27 million compatriots watched as in November 2011 he became the first participant 50 million rupees, then converted a million dollars. With 13 correctly answered questions, the office workers earned from one of the poorest regions of India at one go about 800 years’ salary and became the real “Slumdog Millionaire” crowned – after all, his life story was very reminiscent the story of Danny Boyle’s eight Oscar crowned film about the game show .
More about
Sometimes people benefit beyond the family of WWM-winner of the victory. The first German champion Eckhard Freise paid the one million DM a detached house and donated the rest. Ralf Schnoor took the 2010 earned million including for wage increases for the employees of its cafes.
“The Big Jubilee Show” on Monday night would be the perfect setting for the 14th German WWM-winner. Here, however, so a lot is different from usual.
