The Winnetou-performer at the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg, Jan Sosniok has its famous predecessor Pierre Brice as “Winnetou par excellence” appreciated.

“We are all very concerned,” said the 47-year-old to death of French actor in a “Spiegel Online” interview. “Pierre Brice has shaped us, he is Winnetou par, even for me.”

After his successes as an actor in the “Winnetou” films was Pierre Brice from 1988 to 1991 and at the Karl May Playing worked as actor and author. On limestone in Bad Segeberg Brice look still from old posters in the offices, Sosniok said. “Nobody will be able to topple him from his throne.”

Pierre Brice had the “Winnetou” role conferred a uniquely authentic, strong aura. “Those are big shoes to fill,” said the former “Good Times, Bad Times” star.

The 86-year-old Brice had died on Saturday in a hospital in Paris in the arms of his wife Hella.
