Erik Lesser Gold has surprisingly won in the pursuit and the German team brought the first medal at the Biathlon World Cup in Kontiolahti. The franc Hainer made on Sunday on the 12.5 km no shooting error. He ensured the first world title in this discipline for eleven years. The 26-year-old sat down with a lead of 17 seconds before the Russians Anton Schipulin (1 error) and Tarjei Bø of Norway (1 / 18.7 seconds).
Lesser celebrates his biggest single success
This Lesser celebrated its biggest single success, having won last year in Sochi at the Olympic Games silver in singles and in the relay. The last time brought in this discipline Ricco Gross 2004 World Championship gold. In so far last World Cup in Kontiolahti 1999, there had been a German triple victory by Ricco Gross, Frank Luck and Sven Fischer.
The foundation for the success Lesser put on the shooting range, where the Sprint Fifth showed no nerves and kept the competition at bay. Arnd Peiffer improved from rank 30 to position 14 (3 / + 1 32.4 minutes). Benedict Doll came as 28 finish (7 / + 2: 30.2)
