The Paris show at the Grand Palais (25 March to 13 July 2015) grouped the paintings in color-coordinated theme rooms: in the green salon jesters and inquisitors are seen. In the gray room, the purple of the Papstrobe of Innocent X. outshines the decent primer of the room. There is also a black primed area in which the masterful light setting the painting by Velázquez takes double advantage. We conclude with a self-portrait of the court painter.
