The Norwegian band A-ha has reunited four years after their release. At a press conference in Berlin announced the three musicians Morten Harket, Magne Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar Savoy that they will be releasing a new album on 4 September. The comeback plate shall be called “Cast In Steel”.
Even a joint international tour, there will be 2,016. 13 of the concerts will be held in Germany, to each one comes in Switzerland and Austria. The pre-sale will start already on 27 March.
Slow rapprochement
“Cast In Steel” is the tenth studio album by the band, which had actually separated in December 2010. “It was a serious, genuine resolution of the band,” Morten Harket explains now. “In the truest sense of the word a-ha did not exist in the time after that.”

Gradually, however, the musicians found together and tried together pieces from new. “The nice thing was that we were able to take place this whole process under the radar, there were no deals, no contracts, there were no tours scheduled,” said Paul Waaktaar Savoy. “It was just like it was when we started in the 80s in the hut of my parents. Some instruments, a song, a voice.”
No comeback on time
A reunification duration should not of course: “We will not come together to stay together,” says Harket. “We have agreed that, for a certain time to be together again.. For an album and a tour, it is a wonderful opportunity and we can write a common chapter again”

breakthrough with “Take On Me”
A-ha were with songs like “Take On Me”, “The Sun Always Shines On TV” or “Hunting High And Low” the most successful bands of the 1980s. After a break of nearly a decade, a-ha celebrated in 2000 with the album “Minor Earth Major Sky” and the decoupled single “Summer Moved On” a successful comeback.
