In the course of almost 50 years, David Bowie has released around 25 albums. Including many masterpieces and classics for the ages.

According to the official census published by David Bowie from the failed start-debut (1967) until the conclusion with “Blackstar” (2016), around 25 albums.

the Following are considered to be masterpieces:

THE FIRST CLASSIC: On “Hunky Dory” (1971) develops Bowie Song “Life On Mars?” his space-themed more and reached for the first time, the Top 3 in the UK Album Charts. With “Andy Warhol” and “Song For Bob Dylan” he bows in front of two of his heroes. The path to stardom is paved. Hit: “Changes”.

glam rock-GROSSTAT: “The Rise And fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars” (1972) invents Bowie as an art figure. The song cycle sets the benchmark for theatricality in Pop. He wanted “a kind of Musical, in which the artist plays on stage is only a role,” explains Bowie. Hits: “Starman”, “Ziggy Stardust”.

ON TO AMERICA: “Young Americans” (1975) suggests in the title of the album, where Bowie was going. On his first in the United States recorded record of the bleach Brite flirts with black music. Some people call the “plastic-Soul”, but the Songs are full of devotion and until today, it is thrilling. Hit: “Fame” (Bowie’s new PAL John Lennon).

is a masterpiece of DRUG: For many critics of “Station To Station” (1976) is probably the most complete, the best work of his early years. This Bowie mutated by the “diet”a mixture of cocaine, milk and peppers to the “Thin White Duke”. With the ten-minute title song and “Stay” proves he has enormous creativity beyond the Pop. Hit: The “Golden Years”.

wall is the city-AVANT-garde: Health-wise and financially burned, flees Bowie to Berlin. Here he works with Brian Eno on “Low” (1977), a “new musical language”, influenced by Kraftwerk, Can and Tangerine Dream. With “Heroes” (1977) and “Lodger” (1979) consequences of other exploits. Hit: “Sound And Vision”.

THE stadium rocker “Let’s Dance” (1983) is perhaps one of Bowie’s best albums, but his international career probably the most important. In the UK, he reached the usual place 1 with the catchy Funk – and Blues mixture, but he is also a global Mega-Star. Hits: “Let’s Dance”, “China Girl”.

NOSTALGIC COMEBACK: As one has come to terms with Bowie’s artistic Silence already, he returns with force. The album cover of “The Next Day” (2013) follows on from his Berlin years, a slightly melancholy mood pervades some of the new songs. Key Song: “Where Are We Now?”.

the FINAL TRIUMPH: It fits to an artist from the rank Bowie’s that he picks (with) the Best for last. Fortunately, he gets before his death, the pop world “Blackstar” (2016) celebrates as a masterpiece. Then the bold track between Rock and Jazz as a farewell to the world be understood. Key Song: “Lazarus”.
