In its “Donnerstalk” Dunja Hayali focused this time on the unworthy life of the German Hartz IV underlayer. While the SPD has lost access to the “little people”, the AFD presented as their savior. But as the invitee Beatrix von Storch shows the party looking rather scapegoats than solutions.
Dunja Hayali boasts known to read (almost) all the feedback, she receives for her mission “Donnerstalk”. A Communication has the presenter but so very touched that she reads the letter in her mission. Why do they not even reported on the plight of low-paid and German Hartz IV recipients who see no prospects in their lives, asks as the viewer Manfred Kruse. He himself had only 140 euros a month left, and he did not know why he was still alive.
Indeed, in the recent “Donnerstalk” shows it was much to right-wing extremists to Turkey (also previously in this issue) and refugees. The so-called “little man”, a “little woman” is, in many cases,
found so far relatively little attention in the “Donnerstalk”. From victims Heroes
be fair, one must here but objected: This is the case not only in the mission of Dunja Hayali. If it has been reported in the past about the life of the so-called “false proletariat”, then. Mostly in the form of stories about cracked Hartz IV cheaters who can bleed the welfare state and, in turn, presented the blood of the taxpayer boil For years, the debate was accordingly unilaterally in public.
However, the same commentators, where the Hartz IV ruleset could not be low enough, now a group have found they begrudge much more a dignified life : refugees. And now is the “little man” again good enough – at least as long as he is German
All of this is of course not the fault of Dunja Hayali, but it colors the debate in advance.. The fact that the presenter actually finds a sympathetic but objective position in the terminal to capture the life of the German underclass, however, is then beneficial.
piggy bank for Mom
For their reportage Hayali visited the single mother Uschi Christmann. With her four sons Christmann lives in a small apartment in Mannheim problem Schönau district. . She lives of maintenance, benefits and a small part-time job as a cleaner
Big leaps, a perspective for the future life do, not with the money in it, says Christmann: “I can not offer as much my children as I would like. “for a family vacation, for example. The fact that this situation is not common, also notice their children. In a poignant scene of eight-year old Dylan proudly showing his moneybox. If the piggy bank is full, tells Dylan that he would not buy anything from the money – but give it his mama. The mother to tears, and Hayali can only reply stunned: “I’ll break together.”
In Schönau the unemployment rate is twice as high as in Mannheim Average of about six percent, one in four residents is at risk of poverty. Desolate residential blocks dominate the picture. A quarter was formerly an SPD stronghold, but many have turned the Social Democrats out of frustration the back – and have gone over to the AFD. “We have nothing, we get nothing, and we do not want to!” Says about the inhabitants Dieter Reichberg. He was years of SPD supporters and now is engaged in the AFD.
No cheers storms
How this could have happened that are on the couch of “Donner Talks” Now SPD Justice Minister Heiko Maas and the Berlin AFD chairman Beatrix von Storch explained. And as it just so does a politician in government, Maas is one of the beginning of his statement experiment once all possible measures to have implemented his party recently for the “little people”: minimum wage, housing, starting brake. But, as Maas, there are “parts of the population who feel so disconnected, that where no longer matters.”
This is a highly problematic statement, it implies but that frustration these people was unfounded – they listen to halt just not paying attention. And even if the Minister of Justice should not have meant: He overlooks the fact that the frustration of these people from decades of non-compliance results, long before these measures have been taken. Just the minimum wage and the rental price brake are just hustling fixes for major problems that had equal overslept several federal governments before. The fact that the underlayer as not equal erupts in jubilation storms, Maas seems to be seriously surprised. This is scary.
Neoliberal Social Party
To what extent the AFD will make it better, is now Beatrix von Storch explained. The Berlin regional chairman is so, however, before a difficult task. Because that adopted in the spring party program AfD reads at times frightening antisocial, as well as Justice Minister Maas notes. The abolition of the inheritance tax, raising the retirement age and at best ambivalent attitude to the minimum wage are classically neoliberal themes. And with the tax concepts of the party remains lack of detailed planning still unclear whether it can be the little citizens actually relieve.
“Are you a party of the better-off?” therefore also asks presenter Hayali. And AFD-Woman von Storch has a simple explanation. One must be realistic, so von Storch, because “with massive immigration into the social security systems we are the promises we make now, the future can not do.” And later, she says: “Open borders and the welfare state – can not.”
a scapegoat for all cases
This is a – to put it mildly – quite scandalous statement, according to the motto: We would have liked to offer more, but unfortunately the refugees take us all away. But of course it is also a clever trick in the event that the AfD could actually times slip into political responsibility: If they do not prove to be there as the savior of the underlayer, as she behaves like she has immediately ready a scapegoat. A scapegoat, it has previously been brought precisely in position.
Although the reply of Maas that immigration on the contrary would be “a win” for the German prosperity, nor assignable as the statement of AFD politician. (Maas handled in his argument with migration studies from the past – but this applies to the currently taking place immigration, is dishonest.) But the Minister of Justice also secures rightly the applause from the audience when he “pure propaganda” accuses von Storch
Either way: the AFD will soon a fraction having leeway in the German Landtag be. “They sit now yes then in some parliaments, then we will see if they deliver,” says Hayali. The “little people” will be watching closely. And the AFD should be warned: For the wrath of the underlayer subsided slowly. Heiko Maas and the SPD have this lesson just learned
