The new season of ” House of Cards “bursting into the midst of the madness of the US election campaign. The unscrupulous Frank Underwood drives back to mischief. But he is facing stiff competition in the real world.

The United States in 2016, the election campaign is in full swing. The Republican Party is deeply divided. Largely because of Donald Trump, the man with Fönfrisur and crude theses. But from election posters looks currently another smugly on the pedestrian down. Frank Underwood

The main character from the series “House of Cards” is every bit as arrogant as Trump. Frank Underwood, those unscrupulous, hypocritical and sinister politician is back on the screen. With the fourth season Netflix bursts into the midst of the madness of the election campaign.

The frame could hardly be better. The streaming service uses the current excitement to promote the series eagerly. Frank Underwood has its own campaign page, there are stickers with the logo “Fu 2016″, with the area code in South Carolina the fictional politicians even had its own stand.

Netflix released all the episodes. In Germany, the season can be seen at the pay-TV broadcaster Sky. But it delivers what it promises? Is the hype continue? An author of the “Washington Post” is skeptical: “Is House of Cards deteriorated or it has always been so bad,” she asks

First of all repeated in the series pretty much what USA. actually busy in recent weeks. The President holds his annual State of the Nation, in the small state of New Hampshire will be held the second prefix, the “Super Tuesday” is on.

Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), while still president, but has to face the hard choice of mechanism preselection battle. Here seven Democrats and Republicans their candidates from. At first it’s going not really around for him. The competitors sit him in the neck. And leaders of his Democratic Party did not even that he takes.

In foreign affairs, announces new trouble. Of course, with Russia. President Viktor Petrov (Lars Mikkelsen), this very successful Putin-waste, weathered the great conspiracy of the United States. If it comes to a head or sit the two presidents at the end again cigar smoking on a staircase, as in the previous season?

But all these problems are nothing compared to what Underwood made your own. He who is accustomed to his opponents always one step ahead, it gets a respondent to do that this game at least as well controlled as, if not better. His wife Claire (Robin Wright). The last season ended with the breaking of the two. She helped him to become president. Now she wants more.

Ironically, in the code in his home state of South Carolina it could inflict a bitter defeat. This has to do with his late father and the Ku Klux Klan. More is not to be revealed at this point. But as for the matter of the Ku Klux Klan, there is a surprising parallel to reality.

Also, Trump had in recent days problems with the racist organization. The ex-Klan leader and Holocaust denier David Duke spoke to him in his support. Only had the 69-year-old any connection to Duke back then commented but reserved and distant no longer quite so clear. “I know nothing about Duke, okay?” He said.

But unlike in the series did not end in rebellion. His opponents confirmed it, his followers did not care, the “Super Tuesday” sat Trump continued his winning streak. He breaks all the conventions, for it applies to anything else as true in politics.

Maybe that’s next to the arrogance one more thing that he has in common with Underwood. That far nothing could stop him. Not even his own party.
