TV review: Axel Milberg in “The favorite of Heaven” – THE WORLD

The psychotherapist among us must be very strong for a moment now. Psychotherapists, my father was fond of saying, are psychotherapists, because they need a psychotherapist. Among psychotherapists, says the film director Dani Levy, compulsive characters are widespread. Rumored he knows as much out, he could be the effect probably Woody Allen Prize winner, if there was this award for halfway through therapierte cineastes. The only way, however. Anyway, this experience is his new film, which carries the given his hero but surprising title “The darling of heaven”, a fairly substantial urgency, persuasiveness. And mirth of course.

Levy should namely a comedy turn for the NDR (which some now hold treatable even for relatively limited). The only condition: Axel Milberg had to play the leading role. Levy came to himself and wondered what he would like to see with Milberg because. The result is the improbable, the unlikely sad, improbable funny suffering and purification history of Magnus Sorel.

You have this man in his lint gray anorak, proper pants and the almost red beard is not long look to notice that he has a rather formidable shadow. It takes no two seconds more precisely. And listening is enough really. Sorel counts namely his footsteps on the pavement. He mumbles something. His tablet is ringing all naslang. “Pajamas attract”, then logs the Reminder. Or “showers”.

What we might mention his compulsive washing. Or the fact that he is the first man on German television, the so cleanly done its necessity in his snow-white, aseptic Loft in Hamburg’s HafenCity that his carefully folded toilet paper after wiping (you can see the actual) is as white as snow as before .

that the man is really at least as completely blocked in the brain and heart, as his life is empty, to remember that you do not need too long. He suffers, even the lead Dani Levy and Axel Milberg in a kind of optical, acoustic and gestural hyperactivity like before, under a sort of attention, for him everything is too loud, too bright, smells too strong. The world is really too much for him. That it just is not the usual and cheap circus performances an obsessional neurotic, the fine art of Menschenbildnerei Axel Milbergs Thanks to.

Well located Sorel most likely still feels in his practice. Since the portrait gallery of Sorelian therapists History hangs on the wall (his father, the Mario Adorf are as Großstadtindianer esque ways, was also a very great in his field). As he greeted his employees with “Carpe Diem” Everyone, treated migrants and celebrities (Karl Dall, for example). Demands from them what he does not pay for itself. The truth. Talking about himself. A tough guy, none of understanding intimate bed assessors. Besides, he wrote shopping lists in his Tablet.

The man needs help, must be freed. And Levy, the philanthropic destiny Tricker, means well with him. And evil at the same time

Photo:. Christine Schroeder / NDR It is just too much: Masha Kovacevic (Andreja Schneider) loves Dr. Magnus Sorel (Axel Milberg). However, the has a little afraid of her. At least. One can understand it

He sends him through purgatory – because of patient abuse he is charged, an appearance at Günter Jauch he messed up, his diaries ( 188 black notebooks full therapeutic blood, sweat and semen) are stolen, rebelled his son. And he puts him in his hell-urban driving two angels female Geharnischte it were, to the side. His terminally ill wife, who he had left once under cover of darkness. And Masha. . Above all, Masha

Masha – Andreja Schneider, Fraulein Schneider the siblings Pfister – has him, Masha is too much. One type menopause force Grumpy. Sexed. She sweats so much that Sorel fogged glasses.

So he asks. And counts and mutters, is humiliated. One can not stand him and suffers with him and laughs at him and loves him. Great film. Each dialogue is sitting, you want it to stop and again heard, the images tell stories in stories.

There’s always hope for German television, the supposedly untreatable.
