David Bowie’s vast art collection will be auctioned in London – RP ONLINE

London. The more than 350 works of existing art collection in the January deaths of Rock superstar David Bowie (1947-2016) from Thursday in London under the Hammer.

According to the auction house Sotheby’s, the collection has a minimum estimated value of around 15 million euros. The bidding competition on the evening (19 PM) and Friday (10.30 am) with the active participation of art collectors, galleries, museums, and Fans.

Bowie was on 10. January – two days after the release of his globally acclaimed album “Blackstar” – at the age of 69 in his adopted hometown, New York, died of cancer. For him, art was “always an indispensable food,” said the musician in 1998. Still little was right about his passion for collecting was known.

Some of the most important works of the Bowie collection are from the 1931 Berlin-born British painter Frank Auerbach, and the American Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988). The painting “Air Power” with a minimum price of around three million euros, the most expensive offer. It will be auctioned art for three – or four-digit amounts.
