Hamburg (dpa / lno) – With an anniversary concert, the Greek singer Nana Mouskouri has celebrated her 80th birthday in front of a packed house in Hamburg. About 2,000 spectators cheered the singer on Monday night at the last concert of her “Happy Birthday” tour in Hamburg Laeiszhalle.
“I am pleased that especially on my birthday so many people have come to my concert “, Mouskouri said. Along with her daughter Lenou sang the chanteuse their famous hits “Good morning, Sunshine” and “White Roses from Athens” and thus ended her tour for her new album “My journey – from 1962 to today.” By Germany and Austria
At the beginning of the two-hour concert Mouskouri was received by audiences with standing ovations and a birthday song.
Visibly moved, she began her program. Of Greek folklore songs about the chanson classic “La Vie en Rose” to songs of soul singer Amy Winehouse inspired the 80-year-old, the Hamburg audience. 

The organizers presented the Greek on stage with a birthday cake and an award the “most successful singer world”. Mouskouri has sold according to the management in its almost 60-year career, more than 300 million records and is Madonna’s second most successful artist of all time.
