#ParisAttacks: Eagles Of Death Metal publish Statement – SPIEGEL ONLINE

The band has arrived safely at home in the US – that’s the good news. But the shock runs deep: “We are appalled and are still trying to find words for what has happened in France,” the Eagles of Death Metal now divided in a first statement with since the attacks of Paris.

The band had occurred last Friday in the Paris Club Bataclan, as terrorists opened fire on the fans. About 90 people died in the attack – including friends and employees of the musicians.

“Even though we are still deep in mourning for the victims, the fans, the families, the citizens of Paris and those who suffer from terrorism, we stand proudly together, with our new family, now united in a common goal of love and compassion, “it said in the Twitter post. This can be seen with a Peace, Love and Satan greeting not only the French flag, but also three hands.

Until further notice, all shows the band are canceled. Nevertheless, they should set an example after the terrorist attacks: Fans want the US band with “Save A Prayer” – a cover version of the hit British band Duran Duran in 1982 – bring up the charts. On the “Eagles Of Death Metal For No. 1″ Facebook page they call for, download the track en masse. Digital sales already rose sharply in several countries.

The Eagles Of Death Metal (EODM) concluded her statement by saying: “Long live the music, long live freedom, long live France, long live and EODM.”
