In their traditional visit to the Bayreuth Festival Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) has fallen from a chair. The fall happened in the second break in a restaurant. Reports about an alleged attack of weakness Merkel were denied.
“The chair has collapsed. The Chancellor was not a second faint,” said Vice-government spokesman George warrior. Merkel took part after the premiere even on state reception. For staging she remarked narrowly: “It has pleased me.” Katharina Wagner had opened the festival with “Tristan und Isolde”
