With 88 years: publisher Alfred Neven DuMont has died – THE WORLD

Cologne publisher Alfred Neven DuMont is dead. According to the media house M. DuMont (MDS) died the editor and longtime chairman of the publishing on Saturday at the age of 88 years. Neven DuMont, veteran of the Cologne newspaper landscape, was one of the last major publisher personalities of German post-war period.

Born the son of a Cologne publisher dynasty came Neven DuMont 1953 in the publishing house of his father and took over the publishing line at the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”.

mid-1960s, he founded the “Express”. Today the “Kölnische Rundschau”, the “Berliner Zeitung”, the “Central German newspaper”, the “Hamburger Morgenpost”, the “Berliner Zeitung” and the “Berliner Kurier” in the MDS group appear.

Neven DuMont married in 1966 Hedwig von Auersperg. Their eldest son Markus, an artist, died in 1995. The younger children are Isabella (47) and Constantine (45).
