Hamburg (dpa) – TV presenter Johannes B. Kerner (51) and his wife Britta Becker (43) have separated. Her lawyer confirmed on Friday a report of the “image” newspaper. The couple were together for 20 years. Kerner and the former top athlete have four children and live in Hamburg.
“Our clients are the changed life situation fully meet because of their adult in longtime partnership responsibility for the children,” wrote her lawyer Christian Schertz. Further explanations will not give the couple.
Kerner began his television career in 1990 as a sports reporter for the Berlin radio station SFB. His most successful period he had from 1997 to 2009 at the ZDF. There he hosted for several years the “Current Sports Center” and the “Johannes B. Kerner Show”. In 2009 he moved to SAT.1 and four years later returned to ZDF – without much success. . Between 2004 and 2012 Kerner was the advertising face of the sausage manufacturer Gutfried – partly was also his wife for the commercials on camera
On the subject of marriage Kerner 2013 said in an interview the “image” newspaper: ” If you get married, you already have the idea that it should not come to a divorce. “
Becker played for years in the hockey Bundesliga for the club Rüsselsheimer RK and for the German national team, with which they 200 Internationals graduated. Its biggest sporting success counted the silver medal at the Olympic Games in 1992. Becker ended her career in the early 2000s
