“Hamilton” had gone with 16 nominations in thirteen categories in the race, with the male lead – and supporting roles were equally nominated several actors from the play. With eleven trophies the musical is indeed the big winner of the evening, but no new record holder. The recent “Tony” -record still holds the musical “The Producers” with twelve victories of 2001.
