Last “crime scene” from Leipzig: “Low instincts”: they hated and they loved each other – Neue Zürcher Zeitung

Sometimes a film is the effort so such written into the script, it that almost nothing can be. The last case of the two commissioners Leipzig Saalfeld (Simone Thomalla) and Keppler (Martin Wuttke) should have been the last great act. And it is not because of the actors who make an effort in good faith to bring this strange “Tatort” episode somehow over the stage. Sascha Barango, actually deserved “Tatort” -plotter and responsible for many successful Borowski consequences, this time delivered his sense of history in the cloakroom.

The child as an object of desire

As an 8-year-old girl disappears, Saalfeld and Keppler take over the investigation. The audience knows from the beginning who the bad guys are in this miserable game – about the seductive housewife (Susanne Wolff), remained infertile and it obviously traumatized. It is driven by a morbid fetishization of the child. It locks the girl in a soundproof room in the basement in order to enchant in a seemingly strange masquerade constantly to attract and to elevate.

The Leipzig Commissioners during which permanently mentally at the stop. The Lost Child tears old wounds in the former pair Saalfeld and Keppler, which still had buried in the infancy of their daughter. Jealousy and recriminations eventually escalate into a coram publico discharged in the police canteen guerrilla warfare including fisticuffs.

Vernuschelter nonsense

The original intention, Saalfeld and Keppler again a big stage prepare, one went wrong. The film has time and again to outliers. Is inappropriate about that Keppler repeatedly used directly in the camera to mumble something about the meaning of life and the audience to explain his various plights. This personal approach Kepplers to the public is out of place and confusing

Generously is “Low instincts” been lining effect, of clichés. The classic catfight with the liberal neighbor next door. The apparently papery Leipzig walls that carry every word and every sound of a sexual act unfiltered to the ear of the jealous Commissioner. The in religious delusion entirely abgedrifteten parents of the girl that evoke unpleasant memories of Jodie Foster’s ‘Nell’ facial expressions and gestures.

This will end badly

And the old adage ” What loves teasing herself “is overused as a farewell to Saalfeld and Keppler again over charge. It has the two of Leipzig done with this parting any favors. You would have earned after seven years and many consequences that leave with a memorable finish with a class.
