“The scene of the crime”-review: “long live death” ties with ominous conclusion – t-online.de

Supposedly gentle deaths, a lunatic murderer, and a depressive Commissioner who is on the verge of losing control. “Long live death” – the sixth “scene of the crime” with the state police Commissioner Felix Murot (Ulrich Tukur) revoked again the usual “scene of the crime”-laws and helped the ARD to a memorable murder mystery evening.

In this Episode, the audience was the man Felix Murot for the first time, very close. It was learned that Murots father at 12. Birthday of his son hanged himself. Reason: depression. The little Felix knew, it, however, displaced. As an adult, Murot recognizes, however, that he has inherited the slope to the great sadness of his father. Only one of the hardest criminal case is capable of it so not to distract, that his life is no matter. But every Time after that: the depth of the crash in the dark hole of melancholy. Loneliness. Grief. Thoughts of suicide.

The omniscient killer

There is a person who knows all of this. He wants to help Murot, to die. Arthur Steinmetz (Jens Harzer), a detour of about six others Dead, the he would according to his own statement, “full and soft” glide – his goal, his Idol Murot. The constant Courting of a sick murderer to the consent Murots to have him peacefully put to death, is the core of the mystery. Steinmetz caresses Murot, he compelled him, he is adamant, gentle, relentlessly truthful, and at the same time a cold-blooded blackmailer.

What school grade you give to the “scene of the crime: It is death”?

dialogs as a chamber game

Director Sebastian Marka and writer Erol Yesilkaya, the plot of this Episode is reduced almost to the conversations between the Commissioner and the offender. They were held as a kind of chamber play in all of the silence, of all things, in the chapel of a prison, later in a hospital room. Dimmed lights, flickering candles and an over all radiant cross. Has Murot found his Savior?

Strong Performance: Tukurs Co-Partner Jens Harzer

Terrific appearance of Jens Harzer: actor (“Same Same But Different, “Requiem”) spoke his sentences are not complicated, but simple and clear. Challenging. But as he said it, with this very own Modulation and Timbre, bathes, and full of Conviction, was a force of tremendous and voltage. You wanted to come behind the mystery, the rotation of this man. Neither the Commissioner nor the audience could escape this flattery.

Using some of the time jumps, the circumstances were explained, why Murot and Steinmetz know in a long time. Then you returned to the current Dialog situation. There was no loud shootouts, wild car chases or action scenes. A nearly constant played the Soundtrack helped to structure. The film montage and the cut to fit.

Ominous conclusion

The quiet staging culminated in a peaceful conclusion. And seemed to be highly disturbing. Murot finally agreed to go through accompanied by a stonemason in the death. He so wanted to release another girl – the daughter of his assistant guardian from the hands of the Gangsters. In the end, he was in a with his own blood-filled bath tub and lost consciousness.

In his Dream he saw the sun-flooded Meadow of his children, of his deceased father was laughing. He has arrived in his Paradise? And be followed by a visit to a coffee, in the Magda Wächter excited with their rescued daughter, chatted – it was a dream or reality? While the spectators thought with a pounding heart about whether or not this was, perhaps, Murots last “scene of the crime”, appeared in the well-known, white crosshair on a blue background. Credits.
