Scene from Lucerne with Anoine Monot jr: Fight To The Last – STERN

Two young Albanian car dealers are on the street, in cold blood executed with targeted shots to the head. What starts bloody, proceeds equally. This Crime saves not with shredded faces in close-up: The next day, a trustee is gunned down in broad daylight with the same murder weapon

The Sniper works very professionally and carefully, from the firing position to the alibi is all meticulously planned.. A few minutes after the attack is the killer Simon Amstad (great: Antoine Monot jr.) Already friendly smile of its neighboring baker opposite and ordered with macabre serenity brioches and croissants

No chance for puzzle games

Not only its identity but also the motive of the perpetrator is known quickly. Liz Ritschard (Delia Mayer) discovered what connects the victims. All three have become delinquent, but their processes can be years in coming.

vigilante justice is the big issue, which the writer Urs Bühler has dedicated. This brings many more potential victims on the scene of the investigators: rapists, bank robbers, organ dealers – all free foot go. They must be warned.

Weak performance by Ritschard and Flückiger

Not only this duty drives Ritschard and colleagues Reto Flückiger (Stefan Gubser) to their limits, both psychologically and in terms of personnel. Police Chief Eugene Mattmann (Jean-Pierre Cornu) presents the duo a special task force to the side. But even with reinforcing the police is overwhelmed immeasurably. The killer is always one step ahead, which is the common thread for this episode

The plot languishes in front of him like the contemplative city of Lucerne. Nice to look at? Yes. Exciting? Rather less. After a good 40 minutes, all major issues have been resolved, the second half is reserved for the cat-and-mouse game. The commissioners can be almost involuntarily from the offender on the run-around. As usual, the duo are sympathetic, humane and sensible, but come to the Sherlock qualities of Ritschard and Flückiger at their eighth joint case doubt on.

Mental abysses to

More interesting is the dark psyche of justice driven Killers. Posttraumatic embitterment, by faith was shaken to the rule of law – the diagnosis of the London profiler. In fact: Amstad wife Karin (Sarah Hostettler) is raped by her boss. Since then, no longer speaks with her husband and leaves hardly the house, the marriage has broken. Only about a baby monitor he listens to his killer workshop secretly her voice, he struggles to keep his composure, cigarette smoke mixed with tears

Amstad change is the reason why switching off is not an option. From his friend Simic ( Misel Maticevic) surprised he brings this about in a fit of despair. The meticulous perfection of his deeds is gone, wild gunfire urge wrong victim. The crude murder triggers terror, and yet are the pronounced desire for justice the killer of human, almost likeable features.

It remains only amazement and silence

The disbelief about the judicial failure is contagious. Director Florian Froschmayer has created its fifth “Tatort” episode a perpetrator study goosebumps triggers. Ritschard and Flückiger can only passively contemplate that bloody Still Life has drawn the spring of vigilante justice.

Who the big bang has expected for the season opener, may be disappointed. However, after the quiet summer months of adrenaline may indeed quiet rise somewhat more cautious.
