Protestants stormed the red carpet at the film premiere of ‘Suffragette – actions not words’. In London
Many feminist organizing Sisters Uncut disrupted the premiere of the new film by Meryl Streep (66, ‘The Devil Wears Prada’) and Carey Mulligan (30, ‘Drive’) on 7 November in London. The Protestants, who wore black T-shirts and leggings, jumped over the fencing and stormed the red carpet of the event. The activists vented their anger at the decision of the British government air, the financing of service facilities that support victims of domestic violence, to cut. ‘Theguardian.com’ reported that the Protestants wanted to draw people’s attention to this problem. “The fight is not over yet,” was another slogan.
It is not known if Meryl Streep or her colleague Carey Mulligan were at the time on the red carpet, as the Protestants lay there on the floor. Others held signs in the air with the word ‘dead women can not choose’. At the same green and purple smoke bombs went up near the Odeon cinema. Security guards carried the activists out of the restricted area.
‘Suffragette – Actions speak louder than words’, the new film starring Meryl Streep and Carey Mulligan, is about the women’s suffrage movement in the UK end of the 19th and early 20th century and is on February 4, 2016 in German cinemas.
