Farewell to the Leipzig “Tatort” – tagesspiegel

16:30 clock Markus Ehrenberg

Martin Wuttke gets to the” crime scene “-Abschied a one-man show and provides a kind of proof of God. Maybe not everything was so bad in Leipzig.

Oh, now Commissioner Keppler has reached the end of his seven years of service on the side of Eva Saalfeld among philosophers. Home broke the washing machine flooded apartment with wet clothes to police headquarters, no coffee as much hustle and bustle at the station, a child has been abducted, and Keppler speaks calmly into the camera: Nihil fit sine causa, nothing happens without a reason. Rather, Martin Wuttke talking into the camera. The wise, sometimes grouchy, daring Wuttke, who is known by the Berliner Volksbühne, and was so always think with as Chief Inspector Keppler on television at the Leipzig “Tatort”.

Leipzig “Tatort” the last flap ie. Maybe it had these 21, the farewell episode with Keppler & amp; Be Saalfeld, so it was good. “Low instincts” is one of the better MDR “crime scenes”, perhaps the best, even if this thriller to the end can not decide whether he is really to be taken seriously. The question of the authors, critics and viewers turns out, was it: Are we the Leipzig “Tatort” commissars soon miss or be glad that they are finally gone? Among the most popular among viewers investigators Saalfeld and Keppler unheard. Their average attendance was eight, nine million in the middle of the “crime scene” commissars.

This became fashionable Simone Thomalla-bashing

Yes, the cute teams from Cologne (Dietmar Bear, Klaus J. Behrendt) from Munich (Miro Nemec, Udo Wachtveitl) or Ludwigshafen (Ulrike Folkerts, Andreas Hoppe), the cool Beautiful from Hannover (Maria Furtwängler) or the last Man Standing cop in Hamburg (Til Schweiger ), which all have their fans and advocates, but the tandem in Leipzig, no. To obscure the Andreas Keppler, this introverted thinker, Unbound, large Schweiger and ex-Alki to plan the next Eva Saalfeld. For this, the fashion has come Simone Thomalla-bashing and anyway, it was difficult to understand why Keppler and Saalfeld were ever married. The marriage had hit the rocks when the two had lost their child

Despite this, or perhaps because of – the great “Tatort” finale of the award-winning screenwriter Sascha Arango has much to the extreme. Prehistory the two Commissioners, their impossible love, mourning over their once lost child, their Abseitigkeiten to Kepplers philosophical inclination, the obsessive zeal with which the two investigators now get down to the clarification of child abduction, which one way or the other already has seen in several thrillers.

The eight-year-old Magdalena Harries (Martha wedge), child of Christian sectarians, disappears in a shabby pedestrian tunnel, which is part of their daily school. The deeply religious parents initially remain fairly cool. “My daughter comes back, it’s all God’s will, she lives,” says mother Judith Eva Saalfeld.

With secret hiding in the cellar

It’s not a classic whodunit thriller. Author Arango lets the cat out of the bag very soon. Unlike the policemen of the audience from start to notice white: Who kidnapped the girl, and where it is all the time. In a middle-class couple (terrific: Susanne Wolf and Jens Albinus) in the neighborhood with a morbid desire to have children, but without own children, but to with secret hiding in the basement, where the hijackers show the neighbor’s child behind a latex mask and try to heal family play. Until the mask falls, they expose involuntarily to amend their plans and thereby themselves be in danger.

This is strong stuff, but not necessarily exciting, despite remarkable directorial ideas (Claudia Garde). It whines, whimpers it, it distorted, there are flashbacks, dream sequences, as it is otherwise known only by Dominik Graf. The MDR does it again right modern crash farewell his “crime scene” from Leipzig. Beautiful. When the then soon in Dresden as fast continues …

Back to the real hero of this piece, the one-man show of Martin Wuttke. Nothing else is this “crime scene”. Wuttke speaks directly to the camera, which he holds from the hustle and bustle of crime, such as Kevin Spacey in “House of Cards”, Wuttke freezes, sweats, is drenched in his apartment, beats, is beaten by his ex-wife in front of the door set, taken from the beautiful neighbor and afterwards insulted desolate, whimsical as once on Frank Castorf’s stage. With God, just Keppler, “the Heath” marvels – Wuttke visions, daydreams, occurs in dog shit, falls asleep afterwards in the church, the desperate parents, “Betbrüdern”, even in the middle as the Messiah, Wuttke even speaks with God appears . Saalfeld

So the recent thriller with the much-maligned team of investigators Martin Wuttke and Simone Thomalla provides even something that you really have not seen in 40 years “Tatort”: a kind of proof of God. Everything happens for a reason. Andreas Keppler as the Messiah. Who would have thought from the Middle German Radio. The Leipzig Model has never works right? May be, this “scene” as a theatrical experiment, however, compensated for many unsuccessful thrillers of the past seven years. Since then was also the unspeakable final image forgiven
