Internet bookseller Amazon regulates the remuneration of e-book authors from July 1, new: no longer the downloaded book will bring them money, but only the read pages. Amazon is the justice.

E-Reader can now accurately register, which books we download, but then did not open until which we up to read end, and in which we stop in the middle. But why? What should the publishing industry do with this information? Such questions were half a year in space, now comes an answer: Amazon leads to today 1 July a new compensation model for authors. You are no longer per book sold, so per book downloads, paid, but to read aloud measurement pages.

First, this applies only to authors who, or the subscription service Kindle Unlimited the Amazon Lending Library are available, and publish on the Kindle Direct Publishing Select program their books themselves. But that the other authors are excluded in the long term of this payment system, is probably a naive hope.

The trick to enlarge the font size to get more pages to not be function. Amazon is on a standard measure. With graphics, images etc. However, you can score points, so increasing the number of pages.

from the fact that the buyer pays only per page is read, so far no talk.

The percentage of books that captivates its readers to the end, is 62 percent, incidentally, came out with a first evaluation of the e-reading behavior. If that’s not a savings potential! Amazon, however, does not speak of money, Amazon speaks of justice. Because if as before books were paid per piece, then yes, the writer had thick tomes in the cold.

The new remuneration system raises questions. You do not bode well. As the authors are responding? With a challenging 800-page book as Thomas Pickettys “Capital in the 21st Century” might become difficult to make money. Read from beginning to end have the book probably not many, even if they bought it. And what about the traditional narrow volumes of poetry? Probably not worth

We can expect instead. More Cliffhanger, more secrets, whose resolution is somewhere further promised back. And shorter books (but not too short). According raised by e-Reader data has less than half of the British and Canadian readers Donna Tartts “goldfinch” finished reading. A bestseller. But he has 1024 pages.
