The actor Manfred Krug is dead. He died last Friday at the age of 79 years, in the circle of his family home in Berlin. The Management informed on Thursday.

The actor, author and musician, Krug was born in 1937 in Duisburg, Germany, and came as a child in 1949 in the GDR. In 1977, he went to his Protest against the Expatriation of singer-songwriter Wolf Biermann in the West. In April 2013, in both the East and West successful artist was awarded the Federal cross of merit.
Krug was one of the most popular movie and television actor in the GDR and had signed in 1976, the protest resolution of numerous of the GDR-artists against the Expatriation of Wolf Biermann.
