He was unjust and besserwisserisch, vain and resentful, he was immensely well-read, educated, passionate and a great stylist. Thus, Fritz J. Raddatz had a lot of properties that can be conducive to a critic, and his fame. And he was famous and feared and actually almost as influential as Marcel Reich-Ranicki.
