Pistorius convicted by court of appeal for murder: Up to 15 years in prison … – STERN

New turn in the case of the Paralympic Stars Oscar Pistorius: South Africa’s highest court of appeal has ruled the amputee sprinter of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp guilty. The judge Eric Leach raised so that on Thursday the decision of another court on that Pistorius had condemned in the fall of manslaughter to five years in prison. The prosecution then filed an appeal. Pistorius is now threatening a prison sentence of at least 15 years. He had left the court in October on bail and allowed to previously serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest. The new sentence should be pronounced by a lower instance. At what point, was initially unclear. The prosecution had argued in the original process that the Athlete had deliberately made the fatal shootings on the Model Steenkamp through a locked toilet door on 14 February-2013. Pistorius himself had testified that he had been convinced to shoot a burglar.
